I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.

Ex two time unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
